Hello there, There is a whole discussion on-going about the future of renewable energy solutions in households and their benefits both in terms of the environment and sustainable living. Further, eco-innovative products and services have gained consensus in meeting growing environmental demands and social standards.
Household energy is an important component of our work on CReating Innovative Sustainability Pathways (CRISP; also see: http://www.crisp-futures.eu), which seeks to identify potential pathways that will help the EU move towards the transition to a sustainable, low carbon Europe. Besides household energy, the mobility and food sectors are also explored. To brainstorm ideas and other aspects of a sustainable and desirable future, the participation of those who are willing to contribute in the collective effort of and are already taking initiatives in insulating their households, embedding renewable energy solutions and eco-innovation into their living environment.
Screening the HousingEnergyAdvicor.com.Forum it was obvious that many people are interested in renewable energy and are willing to contribute to sustainable development by choosing renewable and clean energy sources to meet their energy needs. Some of you express your views on renewable energy, whilst others express readiness to consider it as alternative to conventional technologies. With this being said I would like to invite you all to participate in our work and take the opportunity to share your opinion and ideas on future visions, whilst providing us with an important input. A questionnaire about a vision of how our world could look in 2030 was prepared for this purpose and can be accessed by clicking on the following link:
Please keep in mind that there are no “correct” or “false” answers in this questionnaire. Completing the questionnaire will take about 15 minutes. All data will be treated confidentially and the results cannot be traced back to the person filling in the questionnaire.
Your help and participation in our work is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Wow what a video and what a vision. Some lofty goals - I am mainly concerned about the selfish members of society being incapable of doing this. I completely agree we need to shift the mindset and educate but that starts with the government and the people behind the current industries wishing to make as much money as possible. I loved the imagery in this video - if only!
Cannot support this vision enough. It is becoming increasingly important for all of us to do our bit for the environment but I fear many people are very stuck in their ways and don't feel them changing will make much difference.
I have battled with many friends and family over the years to try and encourage them to change their ways slightly. I think sometimes they think I'm suggesting they need to make a financial commitment to install solar panels or another source of renewable energy, but that's not the case at all. In fact, what I am suggesting are slight alterations to their habits that will in fact save them money!
As much as there is a lot of information already out there regarding saving energy, tips etc. I still think there's a lot more work to do to bring the actual affects of our energy consumption on the environment. I think if people see this more clearly it would help them make a change. Many of my friends have the attitude that they've lived this way for half their life already so why change? And yes, perhaps they won't see too greater an affect of their selfishness themselves but it is future generations who are going to suffer.
If we all do our bit we will continue to fight against the devastating affects global warming is having on our environment.
